WTF?

I’m speechless… but I’m hoping you’ll have something funny to add as a comment.

Must See Web TV – 24. March, 2010

Okay, time to get off the SXSW high (but the new Frightened Rabbit album is still on repeat play on my iPod) and time to get back to the creative grind.

That means time to get my multi-platform web series back on track but first, allow me to take a look around the playing field. According to Mashable, these are among the most watched (and therefore the best, I guess) web series around.

I’ve mentioned The Guild before and am excited to see that I can watch episodes via Netflix streaming on my PS3 (when I’m not playing BORDERLANDS or GOD OF WAR 3).

What would the web be without violent cartoons?

Here’s a fairly typical “high concept” web idea.

Wait, you loved BEING JOHN MALKOVICH, right?

And this is the most watched web series out there.

No, seriously, 8 million people have watched this. EIGHT MILLION?!?!?!

Let me be honest and say that I don’t get the mass appeal of most of these. I’ll forgo skewering the technical shortcomings and simply point out that most employ terrible storytelling and awful acting. I can see why the internet has given “sketch” a bad name.

But I digress… back to grind stone… after a little more GOD OF WAR 3.

Prepping for SXSW 2010 – 16. March, 2010

As I prep for SXSW I’m realizing that my digital presence has grown exponentially. I will endeavor to blog, post pictures, all that stuff.

In an effort to help the digitally inclined newbie, Mashable has put together a list of useful social media tools for SXSW including maps, calendars, badges and QR codes… you know, these things:

Me, I gotta pack so enjoy the digital goodies. More tomorrow.

8-Bit Wedding Invite – 4. March, 2010

I’m pitching later today so once again I’ll repost something I found on Mashable, something that makes me insanely jealous.

In lieu of a traditional paper invite, this couple had an 8-bit video game wedding invitation created for them. Recipients/players have to clear all the stages in order to see all the pertinent wedding information.

How freakin’ brilliant!

Here’s his video game.

Here’s her’s.

I love this soooo much that I might try to crash their wedding.

BTW, I handed in that script yesterday.  Let’s hope they like what a friend described as “THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE meets HARD CANDY with a twist of DEATH PROOF.”

Lego Fail Whale – 3. March, 2010

I’m sleep deprived, stressed, putting together a pitch with a partner (a first for me), punching up a feature script and still working 2 jobs so I’m leaving the heavy lifting to the fine folk at Mashable.

May I present to you the Twitter Fail Whale constructed entirely from Legos!

Time for me to get back to work. BTW, click here to see the original article.
