This was my first trip to the Disney Concert Hall and it’s beautiful with amazing sound but it’s also smaller than I thought. Seems to be a reoccurring theme when I enter buildings I admire from afar.
On to the music. As I said, the sound was perfect, maybe too perfect (again, I walked in and was immediately hit by a wave of disappointment) but it was great to hear music from ET, SPARTACUS, CHINATOWN and DOUBLE INDEMNITY. For an encore, “The Imperial March” from THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK.
As the encore ended, I thought for second, wonder what might be my favorite bit of Williams score. I think it’s SUPERMAN but I reserve the right to change my mind. What about you?
