My keyboard died.
I was cleaning it, took off the top but now it won’t properly snap shut. The result are stuck keys and I can’t live with that kind of headache so I took it out back and put it down. It’s sad, I loved that keyboard, but it’s time to upgrade to the newest model.
Just one problem: the one I want is sold out and they’re not making anymore until 2010 (argh!). While I wait for it to drop, I need something. I do own this guy:
Unfortunately, the folding keyboard is more of a home-away-from-home. It’s great for a few hours a day while I’m at my university job but it’d be pretty uncomfortable for long days of writing or editing.
Based on some glowing reviews from MacWorld, I ordered this:
It’s not bad. The action is decent but the keys are a bit cramped. Also, it’s wireless and therefore has a slow response time. For example, I now find that the first two letters of a new sentence I type are capitalized and while I’m a fast typist, I ain’t that fast and I never had that problem with my old keyboard. Still, for now, this will have to do. I guess this is just one of those compromises I gotta make until 2010 rolls around.
(Matias, hurry up with that new keyboard!)
