Goddamn those SHAUN OF THE DEAD guys for once again making a film that 1) lovingly skewers a genre while 2) being a kick ass flick in said genre.
This time around the boys send-up the “buddy-cop” action genre with such flair and heart that I’d say it’s damn near impossible for anyone to hate this movie. Do you hate buddy-cop movies? Then you’ll like this flick. Do you love buddy-cop movies? You’ll be raving about this movie to anyone that’ll listen to you. When I say they get it right, I mean they get it right. First, they understand that the most important relationship is between the buddies. Second, they riff off of tons of cop/detective/gangster movies, both good and bad. Lastly, they give ya one of the best movie shoot-outs you’ll see this year.
In short, why are you still reading this? GO!
(and don’t forget to fire your gun in the air while you scream “argh!”)
